Yadgir Pickup Accident Claims Three Lives, Injures Fifteen

On August 23, a pickup van loaded with female labourers met with a disastrous crash in Yadgir district's Shahpur taluk, striking an electric pole near Madnal village. The driver reportedly lost command of the vehicle, resulting in a high‑speed impact that killed three women instantly: Baghyashri (35), Satyamma (30) and Honingamma (18). Fifteen additional workers were injured and taken to Shahpur Hospital for emergency care. The workers had been engaged in clearing cotton field debris and were returning home when the accident occurred. Investigators from Bheemarayangudi police are examining the scene and have begun a formal investigation.
