Why ‘Baby Do Die Do’ Stands Out Among Bollywood Thrillers

Among recent Hindi thrillers, "Baby Do Die Do" distinguishes itself through its unconventional protagonist and atmospheric storytelling. The mute assassin Baby Karmerkar navigates Mumbai’s underworld while yearning for a normal life, a conflict portrayed without a single dialogue from the lead. Director Nachiket Samant opts for visual storytelling—rain, shadows, stark lighting—while composer Arjun Ayyar supplies a score that mirrors each narrative beat. The film also explores themes of familial loss, justice, and the cost of vengeance, all woven into a plot that constantly re‑positions the audience’s expectations. Supporting performances by Chanki Pandey, Sikandar Kher, and others reinforce the main arc, but it is Huma Kher’s nuanced expression that leaves a lasting impression. The movie’s blend of suspense, romance, and dark comedy makes it a fresh offering in the crowded Bollywood thriller space.
