Why Did 34-Year-Old Driver Kill His Family and End His Life? Investigation Ongoing

A grim episode unfolded in Bengaluru's Kotigepalya area on July 11, when 34‑year‑old driver Prashant allegedly murdered his mother, grandmother and brother‑in‑law before committing suicide.

Family members say there was no indication of mental distress. Prashant's father, Chikkanna, emphasized that his son was healthy, worked as a driver, and had no known conflicts. He recounted leaving for his laundry shop early Saturday, only to learn later of the tragedy.

Police reports indicate the victims suffered injuries from a sharp weapon. The forensic team also found evidence of a self‑inflicted hanging, suggesting Prashant took his own life after the killings.

Officials are collecting testimonies from neighbours, relatives and other witnesses to determine any underlying cause. The investigation is still in its early stages, and authorities have not ruled out any potential motives.
