West Bengal ‘School Fix’ campaign marred by fatal beating, CJP demands justice

The Coconut People Party (CJP) has called for immediate legal action after a fatal beating took place in West Bengal during its “School Fix” campaign. Abdul, a 26‑year‑old volunteer, had visited a government school to inform teachers about an upcoming social audit. That night, men identified as BJP supporters broke into Abdul’s residence, assaulted him, and violently struck his father when he tried to protect his son. The father’s injuries proved fatal, and he died that evening. CJP spokesperson Saurav Das described the incident as a reprehensible act aimed at silencing school‑reform activists. He announced that a delegation, led by Ashutosh Ranka, will meet Abdul’s family to ensure that the perpetrators receive the maximum possible punishment under the law.
