West Bengal Leaders Send Blessings as Mahalaya Begins
The Governor of West Bengal extended heartfelt wishes on social media, linking the auspicious Mahalaya Amavasya with the upcoming Durga Puja festivities. The message praised Goddess Durga as the supreme embodiment of Shakti, the force that eradicates adharma and safeguards dharma.
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari also posted a greeting, invoking the Goddess's arrival as a harbinger of happiness, peace, and prosperity for the state. He appealed for stronger bonds of heritage, culture, unity, and brotherhood throughout West Bengal.
Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma marked the occasion with a note celebrating the start of the Devi phase and the official countdown to Durga Puja, urging artisans to complete the deity statues that will soon begin their annual pilgrimage across the region.
