Industry Boost Expected as West Bengal Fast-Tracks UCC and Permits

The West Bengal government is simultaneously pursuing legal uniformity and industrial expansion. Minister Dilip Ghosh announced that the Uniform Civil Code will be rolled out shortly, with a draft that takes tribal statutes into account.

In addition to legal reforms, Ghosh outlined a series of measures aimed at expediting industrial clearances. He confirmed that the state machinery is being reoriented to issue permits without delay, enabling investors to start operations promptly.

"Over the past decade, many projects stalled due to procedural hold-ups," Ghosh remarked. "Now, the administration will ensure that land allocation and approvals are handled efficiently."

The minister cited a growing queue of enterprises eager to set up in the state and assured that the new policies will unlock significant economic potential for West Bengal.
