In a pointed address on National Doctors’ Day, Suvendu Adhikari accused Mamata Banerjee’s former cabinet of abandoning the state's health infrastructure. Addressing doctors and staff at a northern Kolkata hospital, he highlighted how the TMC administration allowed bureaucracy and nepotism to hamper service delivery. He invoked the legacy of Dr. Biddhan Chandra Roy, noting that the current neglect starkly contrasts the progress once promised. Adhikari emphasized that West Bengal’s talent pool surpasses many Indian states, yet the health system lags due to political meddling. He promised a swift rollout of the Ayushman Bharat programme to bridge the gap.
