Kolkata – Finance Minister Swapna Dasgupta indicated in the 2026‑27 state budget that the additional ₹500 per month for the three NSAP pension schemes will be funded from the Panchayat Affairs and Rural Development department’s allocation. The budget provision covers the increased payouts for the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension, Widow Pension and Disability Pension.
The finance ministry expects the extra expenditure to be fully absorbed within the current fiscal plan, ensuring that the enhanced pensions reach all eligible recipients without compromising other development initiatives.
