Water Transfer Plans and NDRF Aid Highlighted During Latur Tour by CM Fadnavis

While touring the parched fields of Latur, the CM outlined a long‑term strategy to address water scarcity in Marathwada. The state is negotiating with the World Bank to divert surplus water from Kolhapur and Sangli to the Uchni Dam, which will then convey it directly to drought‑hit districts. A detailed project report is expected by December. Fadnavis also accused the previous administration of stalling the Marathwada Water Grid Project and reaffirmed that reviving the large‑scale water infrastructure is a top priority. He stressed that immediate financial relief, uninterrupted loan waiver, and additional fund mobilisation are essential to restore agricultural stability.
