Wangchuk sets conditions for ending fast, seeks compensation for student families

Earlier in the week, Wangchuk wrote to Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda and state minister Jitendra Singh, thanking them for agreeing to meet at Medanta Hospital. In the letter he outlined three conditions for ending his fast: a firm government commitment to compensate families of students who died by suicide after a paper leak, a parliamentary debate to ensure accountability, and consideration of the education minister’s resignation. He highlighted the "Chalo Sansad" march of July 20, noting that despite police force, the protest remained non‑violent.
