Images of Vishakha Yadav, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Arunachal Pradesh on September 22nd, circulated widely on social media. The photos sparked curiosity, leading many to search for information about her online. Yadav, currently serving as the District Collector of Papum Pare in Arunachal Pradesh, also shared the pictures on X, expressing her gratitude for the opportunity to greet the Prime Minister. Born in Delhi in 1994, Yadav is an AGMUT cadre IAS officer. She is the daughter of a police officer and a homemaker. Before her civil service career, Yadav worked as an engineer after graduating from Delhi Technological University (DTU). She left her job to prepare for the UPSC exam, securing the sixth rank nationwide on her third attempt, without any coaching. She was previously the Kurung Kumey DC, and received the prestigious PM’s Award 2024 for her ‘DigiKaksha’ initiative, which aims to revolutionize digital learning and governance in the northeastern state.
