Violent clash over ten‑rupee change leaves rickshaw driver dead in Rajendra Nagar

In the Wattapalli neighborhood of Rajendra Nagar, Hyderabad, a routine fare dispute turned lethal on Sunday evening. The dispute centered on Rs 10 that the driver allegedly kept after a passenger handed over a Rs 200 note. According to eyewitnesses, the altercation quickly escalated, with a group of men attacking the driver, beating him repeatedly until he lost consciousness.

The victim, identified as Mohammad Mukarram, was taken to a hospital where doctors declared him dead. Law enforcement officials arrived promptly and opened a case, while the local legislator, Mohammed Mubeen, reached the hospital to console the family. The MLA named three suspects – Azim, Shoaib and other accomplices – describing them as a “history‑shifter” gang that has previously caused unrest in the area. He called on state authorities to step up security measures and ensure swift legal action against those involved.
