At the unveiling of ‘Madan Das Devi Bhawan’ office by a community social outfit in Rajpura Gud Mandi’s Upasna Kunj, coupled with the 159th micro-loan disbursement ceremony, Gupta delved into the dual burdens of societal stigma and economic vulnerability plaguing these workers.
He elaborated on their exclusion from mainstream banking, driving them into the clutches of usurious moneylenders. ‘High-interest loans eat away at their meager incomes, perpetuating exploitation,’ Gupta noted, painting a stark picture of daily struggles that hinder progress.
