Vijay pledges modern tech and welfare for Tamil Nadu police

Celebrating Police Day in Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay announced a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening the police force. He referred to the 1859 Madras District Police Act as the foundation of a contemporary policing system and reiterated the need to build upon that legacy.

The CM stated that modernizing the police with cutting‑edge technology will enable faster response times, better data analysis and more effective crime prevention. He outlined plans to provide upgraded communication devices, surveillance systems and forensic tools across the state.

Vijay also reaffirmed the government's commitment to the welfare of officers and their families, promising improved housing, health facilities and educational support. He argued that a well‑cared‑for police workforce is essential for maintaining law and order and for fostering public confidence.
