In a stirring speech at Tripura University’s 14th convocation in Agartala on Sunday, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan called on graduating students to embrace disciplined lives, reject narcotics, and use technology ethically to serve society and the nation.
Positioning the youth at the forefront of India’s journey to a developed nation by 2047, he underscored technology’s power to drive change. ‘Progress with purpose is essential for humanity’s advancement,’ he declared, urging responsible innovation.
Tripura’s cultural vibrancy took center stage as he shared insights from his Tripura Sundari Temple visit, celebrating the state’s spiritual legacy. He applauded infrastructure boosts from joint central-state initiatives, spotlighting the Mata Bari Tourism Circuit as a game-changer for spiritual and eco-tourism, employment, and economic growth.
Connectivity’s transformation of Northeast India was a key theme. Over the past decade, enhanced rail, road, and air links under PM Modi’s guidance have united the region with mainland India, strengthening national integration.
Quoting poet Subramania Bharati, the Vice President rallied students to serve the nation selflessly, emphasizing unity in diversity as the key to collective success. Every Indian, he said, is a protector of the motherland.
He hailed the university’s academic ascent, marked by prolific research outputs, funded endeavors, and IP advancements. The digital launch of new faculty and residential facilities marked a milestone in its growth.
