VD Sharma Hails Khajuraho Air Link, Slams Congress on Voter Rolls

Khajuraho witnessed the start of a new air service on Saturday as an Air India flight began connecting the city with Delhi and Varanasi. BJP MP VD Sharma said the route would play an important role in boosting tourism and growth across Bundelkhand.

The new service will operate in a loop covering Delhi, Khajuraho and Varanasi, giving passengers convenient access to the region. Sharma said the flight was launched through the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and the state chief minister's initiatives.

A key highlight, according to the MP, is that the service will continue regularly after the tourist season concludes. Under the UDAN regional connectivity scheme, he said, the aim is to ensure that flights are not interrupted once the peak months pass.

Sharma expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Civil Aviation Minister on behalf of the people of Bundelkhand. He said the milestone was the result of collective effort by many stakeholders.

He then defended the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, calling it a corrective exercise. Sharma asked whether the names of deceased voters, those registered at two or three places, and those who had moved away should not be removed from voter lists.

He accused the Congress of running politics on fake votes for 55 years and said the party was now spreading chaos by opposing reforms. According to him, earlier attempts to influence polling through money, pressure and muscle power are no longer possible.

Sharma also named Akhilesh Yadav and Lalu Yadav, claiming they had benefited from the old system and were now resisting checks on fake voting. He maintained that the Election Commission is a neutral constitutional body that is simply doing its duty.

Finally, the BJP MP targeted Rahul Gandhi and the Congress, alleging that their protests and disruptions in Delhi reflected an attempt to destabilise the country. He asserted that India's democratic institutions have grown stronger under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
