Bihar law enforcement struck hard against human trafficking in Vaishali district, conducting raids on two notorious hotels and rescuing three women subjected to exploitation. Three men were arrested, and a juvenile was detained, exposing a seedy underbelly operating under the guise of hospitality.
Located in the Kharouna Pokhar area of Vaishali police station jurisdiction, Abhishek Vaishali Hotel and The Royal Cafe & Restaurant were allegedly being used by owners and managers to facilitate abuse for financial gain. A confidential informant prompted the formation of a crack team under SDPO Sadar-02 (Lalgunj), featuring key officers and women cops for sensitive handling.
The operation yielded arrests of Vaishali residents Neeraj Kumar and Mukesh Sahni, alongside Saran native Mahesh Mahto. Evidence recovered included multiple phones, cash, documents, and personal items, all pointing to organized activity. Legal proceedings are underway at the local station.
Meanwhile, in Rohtas’s Bikramganj, a raid on a known red-light zone in Dhangai village led to the detention of six people, four of whom were adult women performing in orchestras at community functions. Officials emphasized this as standard patrolling, vowing deeper scrutiny to curb vice and protect vulnerable groups across the state.
