Vaghela Calls for Cooling‑Off Period for Retiring Senior Officials

In a separate statement, Shankarsinh Vaghela urged the government to introduce a mandatory cooling‑off period for senior officials before they take up new governmental responsibilities. He suggested that retired judges, IAS and IPS officers, as well as other senior bureaucrats, should observe a break from official duties to prevent any perception of political patronage. Vaghela emphasized that such a measure would reinforce the independence of constitutional institutions and restore confidence among citizens.
