Uttarakhand MLA Raises Indramani Nitiyal’s Saudi Detention Issue with CM

The case of Indramani Nitiyal, a native of the Dunda block’s Gorasada village, has finally reached the state’s executive level. After eight years of being stranded in Saudi Arabia, the laborer’s plight was presented by Gangaotri MLA Suresh Chauhan to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

Chauhan supplied the chief minister with a dossier containing identity proofs, employment records, and letters from community leaders. In response, Dhami assured that the state would engage the Ministry of External Affairs and pursue dialogue with the Saudi government to secure Nitiyal’s release.

The MLA reported that local NGOs and online volunteers have been mobilising resources, raising awareness through hashtags and crowdsourced funding to aid the family’s legal battle. Earlier visits by Chauhan to Gorasada reinforced his commitment to keep the matter in the spotlight.

The discussion also touched upon upcoming cultural events, notably the Butter Festival at Dayara Bugyal on August 17, where the chief minister was invited. Both officials reiterated that collaborative governance and swift diplomatic outreach are essential to bring Indramani safely back to his home.
