Uttarakhand CM Dhami Hails Record 20.5 Lakh Char Dham Visitors

In a remarkable display of faith and efficient administration, the Char Dham pilgrimage has crossed the 2.05-million mark in under a month. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami described the turnout as “beyond expectations” and credited coordinated planning for the smooth conduct of the yatra. Addressing the media, Dhami outlined how real-time reviews of facilities at every halt point have allowed authorities to respond quickly to emerging needs. From additional medical camps to enhanced power and water supply, every detail is being tracked daily. He added that the enthusiasm is not limited to the four main dhams; sites like Hemkund Sahib and the emerging Adi Kailash circuit are also seeing heavy footfall. State Tourism Minister Bharat Singh Chaudhary echoed the sentiment, noting a visible uptick in hotel bookings, taxi services, and local handicraft sales. With NDRF and SDRF personnel stationed at vulnerable stretches, the government aims to maintain zero-incident travel corridors. Special fodder and water stations for animals carrying pilgrims have also been set up, underscoring the administration’s holistic approach. As the season progresses, Uttarakhand is poised to convert this spiritual wave into sustained economic growth for mountain communities.
