Uttar Pradesh Government Raises Doctor Service Age Limit

The health ministry of Uttar Pradesh announced a new retirement benchmark for its medical staff. Effective immediately, doctors employed by the state's Medical and Health Department will retire at 70 instead of the previous limit of 65. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak explained that the decision is driven by the need to retain experienced specialists who can address the increasing demand for health services in government facilities. The extension is expected to provide patients with access to senior expertise, improve treatment outcomes, and reduce the strain on younger medical personnel. An official circular is being prepared, and the government expects to issue the final order within weeks.
