Upgraded Forensic Vans Cover Over 37,000 Crime Scenes Since 2022

In the past two years, Gujarat’s mobile forensic units have logged 15,529 homicide‑related incidents, 3,746 sexual‑offense cases, 1,583 attempted murders, 728 lootings, 2,758 burglaries, 154 shootings, 43 explosions, 92,893 arson cases, 1,968 narcotics incidents and 9,022 fatal injuries. An additional 10,457 visits involved accidental deaths, custodial deaths, suspicious circumstances and other law‑and‑order investigations. The extensive reach of these vans demonstrates the state’s commitment to integrating scientific methodology into criminal prosecution.
