Upcoming showers to lower AQI levels across Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad

NEW DELHI – After two days of sweltering conditions that reminded residents of the peak summer months, the weather bureau has signaled a shift toward cooler, wetter weather. The forecast for Friday predicts a maximum temperature of 33°C, a minimum of 26°C, and scattered light rain.

Saturday should see a further dip, with the mercury reaching 31°C by day and falling to 25°C at night, while moderate rainfall is likely. Sunday’s outlook remains similar, with a high of 32°C, a low of 26°C and the chance of light showers. The trend continues through 14‑15 September, with day‑time temperatures staying around 31°C and night‑time lows near 24‑25°C.

Air‑quality data released by the Delhi Pollution Control Committee shows a mixed scenario: Anand Vihar (AQI 80), Ashok Vihar (139), Bawana (117) and other locations reporting values between 85 and 132. In Noida, sector‑125 recorded 172, sector‑62 119, while Ghaziabad’s Govindpuri posted a low 47. The incoming rain is expected to cleanse the atmosphere, lowering particulate concentrations and bringing temporary improvement to the AQI across the tri‑city area.
