UP minister Kashyap and ex‑MP Sharan Singh weigh in on Congress' yatra

Uttar Pradesh minister Narendra Kashyap entered the debate, accusing Congress of dividing voters on religious grounds. He said the public has recognized that the party continues to politicise Ram and other faith‑related issues, and that it has historically opposed the construction of the Ram temple.

Former MP Brijbhooshan Sharan Singh added that the Congress frequently announces pilgrimages, citing the earlier Narmada Yatra as an example. He remarked that such trips often resurface when elections approach, with leaders suddenly invoking Ram and Hindutva despite previous contradictory statements.

Sharan Singh also warned that the party's inconsistent stance could be dangerous, as it may alienate voters seeking clear positions on cultural matters. Both leaders suggested that the Yatra is a tactical move rather than a genuine religious initiative.
