UP Minister Highlights Inclusive Policies and International Outreach

State minister Vijay Lakshmi Gautam used the August 19 briefing to showcase the Uttar Pradesh government's commitment to inclusive development. He noted that welfare programs targeting Dalits, OBCs, and other vulnerable sections are being rolled out across districts, with a focus on education, health, and employment.

Gautam also addressed concerns raised about alleged targeting of the Muslim community. He clarified that the party’s outreach initiatives have attracted a large number of Muslim supporters and that no community is being singled out for punitive action. Any criminal conduct, he said, will be investigated without reference to religion.

The minister praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s diplomatic mission to Japan, describing it as a strategic effort to open channels for foreign direct investment. Gautam expressed optimism that the visit will pave the way for joint ventures in infrastructure, manufacturing, and technology sectors.

Regarding the controversy over comments attributed to Congress senior leader Pramod Tiwari on temple renovations, Gautam defended the government's work on restoring religious sites of all faiths. He emphasized that the administration is upgrading facilities for pilgrims and preserving heritage structures.

In response to Samajwadi Party’s criticism of the BJP’s alliance politics, Gautam reiterated that the NDA’s seat‑sharing formula will be negotiated with partners in a transparent manner, ensuring that each party’s regional strengths are respected.
