Lucknow, July 29 – The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) has introduced an array of internationally recognised online certificate courses tailored to the metro industry. The launch marks the first time a metro organisation in India has offered such specialised digital training.

The first phase comprises more than ten courses that delve into core technical domains: rolling stock engineering, signalling technology, track maintenance practices, and automatic fare collection (AFC) systems. Subsequent phases will expand the catalogue to include modules on metro project planning, construction techniques, operational safety, and the latest innovations in rail transport.

The courses are designed for engineers, technical specialists, consultants, contractors’ personnel, and students from engineering colleges who wish to gain a competitive edge in the metro sector. The platform supports participants from any country, enabling global access to India‑developed metro expertise.

Fees are set at INR 200 per course for Indian candidates and USD 100 for foreign enrollees, reflecting a commitment to affordability. Registrations can be completed through the official UPMRC website under the “Online Courses” section.

Managing Director Sushil Kumar emphasised that the rapid expansion of metro networks across the globe has intensified the requirement for skilled manpower. He stated that these certificates will help bridge the talent gap, empower India’s workforce and reinforce the national Skill India initiative.
