UP Electoral Commission Ensures No Eligible Voter Left Behind

To guarantee universal participation in the forthcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the state election machinery has initiated a dedicated voter inclusion program. Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rina outlined a structured approach to register all qualified residents by the 2027 polling deadline.

The initiative targets demographic segments currently underrepresented in electoral data, with particular attention to first-time voters in the 18 to 19 age range and unregistered women. A rigid eligibility benchmark of January 1, 2027, will guide the Special Summarized Revision process statewide.

Administrative coordination will drive the campaign. Election teams will align assembly voter databases with panchayat and municipal records. This cross-validation will uncover qualified individuals missing from official lists. Those without existing registrations will be guided through the Form-6 submission process by Electoral Registration Officers.

Community outreach will extend to public distribution systems. By consulting state ration shop registers, authorities will pinpoint residents aged 18 and above. Comparing these entries with active voter rolls will enable targeted registration drives.

Academic environments will serve as enrollment hubs. Revitalized Electoral Literacy Clubs in schools will monitor students from Class 9 upwards. Coordinators and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers will work in tandem to secure registrations for teens reaching voting age.

National youth frameworks will provide additional manpower. Entities like the Bharat Scouts and Guides, Youth for Health, Nehru Yuva Kendra, NCC, and NSS will assist in field operations and data collection.

Gender parity in voting will be addressed through specialized health and development networks. The state government has aligned the Rural Livelihood Mission, Health Department, and Women and Child Development Ministry to support grassroots identification. Medical and social welfare personnel, including Anganwadi workers and ASHA staff, will visit households to locate eligible women.

Village-level self-help collectives will supplement these efforts. The election department stresses holistic collaboration across municipal offices, ration counters, schools, and local welfare networks to eliminate any eligible voter from the rolls.
