In a bid to ensure smooth legislative functioning, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday urged lawmakers to prioritize dialogue over disruptions as the crucial budget session commenced. Marking the 10th budget of his administration, the session opens with the Governor’s address, setting the tone for discussions on state achievements and plans.
The CM, interacting with journalists, outlined the session’s structure: starting with the Governor’s policy blueprint presented to the joint houses, followed by the general budget on February 11. Running until February 20, this period will see in-depth debates on fiscal strategies.
Yogi Adityanath spotlighted UP’s remarkable economic turnaround—from a ‘sick’ state to a key driver of national growth. An economic survey will be tabled, offering data on income rises, employment generation, and sustained fiscal health. ‘Legislators and the public have a right to know our journey of progress,’ he asserted.
Stressing the assembly’s role as democracy’s foundation, the CM called on members to engage constructively. ‘Disruptions hinder progress; dialogue resolves issues. We’re open to suggestions and ready to act for Uttar Pradesh’s welfare,’ he said, specifically appealing to opposition leaders to avoid unnecessary uproar.
Reflecting on record-breaking productivity over nine years, Yogi noted the session’s national significance. It will serve as a vital forum to propel UP’s development speed, fostering substantive talks on public concerns.
