Lucknow, October 29: Under the Yogi government, efforts are underway in Uttar Pradesh to strengthen the consolidation framework. The state is emphasizing the completion of consolidation in older villages along with building the department's human resources.

The Consolidation Directorate has noted shifts in the number of villages across different phases of the consolidation process. The department has also moved forward with promotions to advance employees and officers.

The directorate reported that 1,544 promotions were made over the past eight years, and the promotion backlog has been eliminated.

Time-bound plan for pending villages

The directorate has followed a planned and time-bound working method to complete the process in old villages. In 2017, the records showed 2,468 villages in the under five years category, 861 villages in the five to ten years category, and 1,166 villages in the over ten years category.

By 2025, these numbers had changed to 1,132, 680 and 586 respectively. The department said priority was given to completing consolidation in old villages.
