UP BJP to Hold Padyatras in Six Regions from Nov 3

Lucknow, October 26: The BJP has planned a series of padyatras across Uttar Pradesh as part of its 'Save Democracy, End Anarchy' campaign. The yatras will cover all six organisational regions of the state, with the party seeking to present its counter-arguments to opposition protests, constitutional values and the electoral process directly before voters.

At a review meeting held at the state party headquarters on Monday, State General Secretary (Organisation) Dharmpal Singh briefed reporters on the campaign. He said the party would respond to protests it considers baseless and expose what it described as the political agenda and double standards of the opposition.

According to Singh, the padyatras will also raise the issue of what he called efforts to destabilise the nation and attempts to bring about a change of power. The campaign, he said, will seek to build public awareness about national unity, constitutional values, social harmony and civic responsibilities.

Singh said the aim of the campaign is to unite people around these issues. He detailed the region-wise schedule. The Avadh region yatra will be held in Lucknow on November 3. The Kashi region yatra will take place in Prayagraj on November 4, and the Gorakhpur region yatra will be held in Gorakhpur on the same day. The Kanpur-Bundelkhand region yatra is scheduled for Kanpur on November 4. The West region yatra will be taken out in Ghaziabad on November 5, while the Braj region yatra will be held in Bareilly on that day.

Singh added that large numbers of party office-bearers, public representatives, members of frontal organisations and cells, and workers will participate. The party is also working to ensure the presence of saints and religious leaders, traders, teachers, lawyers, doctors, social and religious organisation representatives, and local citizens.

He said the padyatras would be undertaken with the resolve to voice the strength of democracy and defeat anarchy. Dilip Patel, state general secretary and campaign convener, gave a detailed account of the preparations. Senior party leaders, including Priyanka Singh Rawat, Neeraj Singh and Sanjay Rai, were also present.
