Unemployment, inflation and corruption fuel criticism of Bihar CM
Tejashwi Yadav, a prominent RJD figure, launched an extensive attack on Bihar’s chief minister Samrat Chaudhary, blaming the administration for a surge in crime, unemployment and soaring prices. The opposition leader said that the state treasury is depleted and basic public services, especially education and health, have crumbled.
He emphasized that the lack of a clear vision and roadmap from the chief minister is the root cause of the state’s woes. According to Yadav, the next six months could see a further increase in criminal activity if the government does not intervene decisively. The opposition also pointed to the failure of the ration system, explaining that while wheat and rice reach households, the rising cost of vegetables, oil and spices leaves citizens unable to prepare complete meals.
Corruption, he added, has become pervasive, with a “transfer‑posting” system that favors those who can pay bribes for desirable postings. Yadav accused the chief minister of lacking the gravitas and knowledge required to fulfill the responsibilities of his office.
The leader also lamented the tragic boat disaster in Vaishali’s Raghopur village, where multiple families, including children, lost loved ones. He called for a fair inquiry, swift legal action against those responsible, and compensation of at least three decimal acres of land for every affected family. Yadav indicated he would send a formal letter to the chief minister demanding these steps.
