UN Declares July 30 International Friendship Day

Recognising the importance of friendship as a bridge between cultures, the United Nations General Assembly officially proclaimed July 30 as International Friendship Day in 2011. The resolution aims not only to celebrate personal bonds but also to promote peace, cooperation and mutual understanding among nations, cultures and communities.
