British High Commissioner to India, Lindy Cameron, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to offer condolences following the tragic plane crash near Ahmedabad Airport. Cameron stated that the UK and India are collaborating to determine the facts surrounding the incident. She also expressed the UK’s readiness to support the families and friends of the British nationals affected by the crash. The Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, carrying 242 passengers from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, crashed shortly after takeoff, resulting in 241 fatalities. The passengers included a mix of Indian, British, Canadian, and Portuguese nationals. Prime Minister Modi also visited the crash site and met with officials and first responders. He extended his sympathies to the families of the victims and visited the injured at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital.
