Udayanidhi Stalin Appeals to Cadre on Youth Wing’s Milestone

Deputy Chief Minister Udayanidhi Stalin used the 47th anniversary of the DMK youth wing as an opportunity to address party workers across social platforms. He urged them to prepare for a “new era of action” that balances ideological commitment with tangible community service.

Stalin reminded cadres that the youth wing began as a small protest group under the guidance of M. K. Stalin, who later became the party’s chief minister. Over nearly five decades, the unit has transformed into a key conduit for the party’s welfare programmes and political outreach.

In his statement, he called for a renewed focus on activities that directly benefit citizens—such as cleaning reservoirs, organising environmental drives, and expanding membership networks. He also shared a video montage that chronicled the wing’s achievements from Madurai’s inaugural event in 1980 to recent grassroots campaigns.

The appeal reinforced the party’s strategy to deepen its presence in every district, ensuring that the DMK’s development agenda and social schemes are communicated effectively to the electorate.
