Udaipur DC Pragna Kalwarani moved to tribal development chief role

The Rajasthan government has transferred Udaipur’s Divisional Commissioner, Pragnya Kalwarani, to the position of Tribal Area Development (TAD) Commissioner. The move, announced on August 22, is part of a broader reorganisation that also saw six IAS officers and seven RAS officers shifted to different assignments.

Kalwarani’s new portfolio will task her with overseeing development programs in the state’s tribal regions, a sector the administration has highlighted for accelerated growth. The reshuffle also granted pending posting orders to three IAS officers: Khajan Singh now heads the Udaipur division, H. Guite has been posted as OS&D in HCM RIPA Jaipur, and Avichal Chaturvedi assumes the role of State Food Security Commissioner.

Other changes include Sohnalal’s move from Commercial Tax to Joint Secretary in Agriculture, and Divyansh Singh’s reassignment from SDM Bawer to Joint Secretary in Education. The state has instructed all transferred officials to take up their new responsibilities immediately, ahead of the upcoming urban and panchayat elections.
