Two‑Year Conspiracy to Loot and Kill Business Family Exposed in Mumbai

Investigators uncovered a prolonged criminal plot that spanned more than two years, aiming to burglarize and murder a businessman, his spouse and daughter residing on the sixth floor of a ten‑storey building in Vile Parle. The plot was hatched by Jageshwar Malik, a long‑term domestic employee, who recruited four co‑accomplices, including a film director’s driver.

The group allegedly met in secluded spots across the Juhi area after the watchman’s shift ended, deliberately avoiding mobile communication to evade detection. They agreed that, upon a successful heist, the loot would be divided with Malik receiving half and the remaining half split among the four others.

Police reports state that the conspirators believed the building’s low occupancy—only three families lived there, with the lower floors occupied by commercial units—would reduce the risk of being caught. Their plan unraveled when the watchman’s body was found in a water tank, prompting a swift investigation and subsequent arrests.
