Delhi Police has once again proven its mettle by safely locating and reuniting two underage boys with their worried families. The operations, centered around Mukherjee Nagar and Wazirabad, highlight the force’s dedication to combating child disappearances.
Starting with the younger victim: a mentally challenged 12-year-old disappeared from Mukherjee Nagar on September 6, 2025. The Mukherjee Nagar police station logged the complaint under BNS Section 137(2), escalating it to AHTU due to the boy’s fragile state.
Under the leadership of ACP Suresh Kumar, a team comprising Inspector Mukesh Kumar and ASI Ajay Kumar Jha launched a multi-pronged probe. CCTV analysis, community canvassing, tech-driven tracking, social media campaigns, and family interviews yielded results. The boy was traced and rescued without harm.
Details emerged that he resided in Nirankari Colony on rent, juggling daytime car cleaning with nighttime guarding duties. His condition led him to lose his way after leaving home, landing at Anand Vihar railway bus stand. It was pure disorientation, not foul play.
Shifting to the second rescue: On January 22, 2026, a 15-year-old from Wazirabad vanished amid family tensions. The FIR at Wazirabad station on January 24 triggered AHTU involvement. Inspector Mukesh Kumar, ASI Mahesh, and HC Naresh Kumar, mentored by ACP Suresh Kumar, pursued leads aggressively.
Local questioning, surveillance tech, fieldwork, and family insights pinpointed the boy at his maternal aunt’s home, thanks to ASI Mahesh’s sharp intel. Recovery happened at Azadpur Vegetable Market on February 4, 2026.
Both minors are now back home securely, with cases handed over for procedural closure. The community’s applause for AHTU’s rapid response has strengthened trust in Delhi’s policing.
Such successes not only bring joy to families but also deter potential threats, showcasing proactive strategies in missing persons cases.
