Two Men on Bike Allegedly Open Fire on Lawyer Over Rent Dispute in Whitefield

Whitefield police are chasing two young men who allegedly opened fire on lawyer Manjunath during a heated rent disagreement. The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Sunday when the victim was inside his house counting money.

According to early findings, the suspects approached the residence on a motorcycle, requesting to speak with the lawyer about a pressing matter. When Manjunath stepped outside, one of the assailants shot him point-blank in the forehead, causing immediate death due to massive blood loss.

The firearm discharge was captured by nearby security cameras, which police are reviewing to pinpoint the vehicle's registration and the suspects' identities. Preliminary leads indicate the perpetrators may originate from Bihar, a hypothesis drawn from their riding style and known criminal patterns.

Manjunath owned a substantial tract of land in Whitefield and leased numerous sheds to tenants, many of whom reportedly had ongoing disputes over rental payments. The police are treating the case as both a possible personal vendetta and a premeditated contract killing. Four dedicated teams have been set up to collect forensic evidence, interview tenants, and trace financial transactions that could reveal a motive.
