Two buses collide near Gadhi bus stop, eight victims in critical condition

A high‑speed collision involving a private pilgrim bus and a state transport bus took place close to the Gadhi bus stop on the Muradabad‑Haridwar state highway.

The private bus, carrying 53 Nepali pilgrims on a tour from Haridwar to Ayodhya, rear‑ended the state bus that was moving ahead. The sudden jolt knocked the private vehicle sideways into a roadside enclosure.

Rescue teams, alerted by nearby residents, arrived quickly and pulled the victims out of the wreckage. More than 35 pilgrims were injured, with eight requiring hospitalization in serious condition. Doctors at Muradabad District Hospital reported fractures and severe swelling.

Police have begun a formal inquiry, examining driver fatigue, speed, and possible mechanical failure as potential causes.
