Trivedi Questions Congress Leadership Over Lack of Praise for Air Force Captain’s Bravery

Sudhanshu Trivedi, the BJP’s national spokesperson, used a Sunday press conference to commend Captain Smita Machhar for her heroic conduct aboard a flight, noting praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and foreign heads of state.

He then criticized the Congress leadership for not uttering a single word in support of the captain, despite the emotional response Sonia Gandhi showed toward the Batla House encounter defendants. Trivedi highlighted the contrast, asking why Congress failed to acknowledge Machhar’s sacrifice that saved many lives.

The spokesperson also targeted Rahul Gandhi, labeling him a “troubled heir” who remained mute on the matter while the party focuses on internal vote‑bank calculations. Trivedi demanded a direct answer from the top echelons of Congress regarding their silence.

He warned that continuing to prioritize narrow electoral interests could jeopardise the nation’s progress, urging citizens to contemplate the broader implications.
