Trivedi Accuses Congress of Ignoring Diplomatic Gains, Spotlighting Menu

New Delhi – In a sharply worded statement on September 14, BJP legislator Sudhanshu Trivedi accused the Congress party of sidestepping the strategic significance of the recent BRICS summit in favor of nitpicking the event’s dining arrangements. He compared the party’s behaviour to an “angry uncle” who, no matter how impressive the celebration, always finds a reason to complain about the food. Trivedi highlighted that the summit, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, managed to bring together rivals such as Saudi Arabia and Iran, culminating in the Delhi Declaration that denounced terrorism and insisted that extremist acts are not tied to any religion. He praised China’s role in facilitating consensus and urged citizens to take pride in the achievement.

The MP also used the platform to attack Rahul Gandhi, claiming the opposition’s professed concern for student welfare is a façade. He referenced the uncovering of alleged irregularities in Jharkhand’s recruitment exams and alleged tampering of OMR sheets during Uttarakhand’s OSDS fund investigations, linking these to former chief minister Harish Rawat. Additionally, Trivedi cited a recent police raid on Karnataka minister Satish Jarkiholi that reportedly exposed ownership of gold mining projects in Congo and Zambia, arguing that corruption under Congress has expanded beyond national borders. According to Trivedi, the focus on a dinner menu reveals a deeper inability to engage with substantive diplomatic and governance matters.
