Tributes pour in for Nana Pataker, a versatile star of Hindi and Marathi films
Veteran actor Nana Pataker’s sudden death on October 8 has prompted an outpouring of tributes across the country. President Droupadi Murmu used her official X account to lament the loss, stating that Pataker’s powerful portrayals resonated deeply with the public and that his commitment to social welfare highlighted his compassionate nature.
Vice‑President C P Radhakrishnan described the actor as a "multifaceted and immensely talented artist" whose performances were marked by depth, sensitivity, and authenticity. He assured that Pataker’s legacy will continue to motivate cinema enthusiasts for years to come.
Medical officials revealed that Pataker was found without pulse at his Goa home and, despite CPR efforts, could not be revived. His filmography began with "Gaman" (1978) and later included Marathi cinema. He re‑entered Hindi cinema with a striking gangster role in "Parinda" (1989) and later directed "Prahar: The Final Attack" (1994).
Fans, colleagues, and the broader film fraternity have joined in expressing sympathy to his family and acknowledging his indelible mark on Indian cinema.
