Tragic Road Crashes in Karnataka Kill Five, Injure Many

Karnataka's road network was the scene of two fatal accidents on Thursday. A vehicle from Ranebennur headed toward Davangere in Haveri collided with a parked truck near Chalagiri crossing, killing three residents – Siddharth (27), Hassan Mukhi (29) and Yashoda Bai (51) – and critically injuring Soumya, Sindhu and an infant named Kashwashri. In Mandya district, a private sleeper bus overturned near Bellur toll after striking a roadside sign, leading to two more deaths and twenty injuries. Both incidents prompted immediate medical evacuation to nearby hospitals. Additionally, a private bus near Brahmavar in Udupi caught fire due to an electrical fault; the driver stopped, the conductor evacuated seven passengers, and fire personnel extinguished the blaze.
