A devastating road accident in Bihar has claimed the lives of two school teachers and left several children injured. The mishap occurred when a bus ferrying students from Kaimur’s Chainpur Middle School Badhauna crashed into a truck on NH 319 near Sohsa village, Parsathua area, Rohtas district.
Organized as an educational tour to Patna and beyond for sightseeing at tourist and religious destinations, the trip turned fatal around midnight. Parsathua SHO Ramchandra Chaupal reported that the bus carried 36 kids and seven faculty members. Preliminary findings point to the driver dozing off, leading to loss of control.
Emergency services acted swiftly upon receiving the alert. The injured—roughly 12 students plus two teachers—received urgent medical care at a nearby facility and are reported stable. The two teachers who perished were Puneet Kumar Sinha of Mirzapur, UP, and Sanjay Kumar Rai of Bhesahat, Bhabhua.
Postmortem procedures are underway at Sasaram Sadar Hospital. This incident highlights glaring safety lapses in student transport.
