Traffic advisory issued as authorities prepare for upcoming protests
Delhi Traffic Police issued a citywide advisory on Monday alerting commuters about possible disruptions linked to upcoming protests at the newly sanctioned sites. The advisory lists approximately 30 critical points where traffic may be rerouted or temporarily halted, including Dhaula Kuan flyover, Jhandewalan, Patel Chowk, Panchkuian, Connaught Place, Mandi House, Lodi Road flyover, Bhikaji Cama Place and Motibagh flyover.
Additional routes that could see restrictions are Jantar Mantar Road, Ashok Road, Parliament Street and Tolstoy Marg. Motorists are urged to check real‑time traffic updates, use alternate routes, and allow extra travel time.
The traffic management plan is part of a broader effort by the Home Ministry and Delhi Police to ensure safety and smooth flow of vehicles while accommodating the right to peaceful assembly at Ramleela Maidan, Burari Maidan and CB Maidan. Officials reiterated that the measures are provisional and will be adjusted based on crowd size and police assessments on the day of each event.
Commuters are encouraged to stay informed through official channels and cooperate with traffic personnel to avoid unnecessary delays.
