Tiwari Criticises Draft UCC Committee, Emphasises Constitutional Intent

Manish Tiwari questioned the state government's plan to set up a drafting committee for a Uniform Civil Code. He clarified that the Constitution mentions a "Uniform Civil Code" and not a "Common Civil Code". Referencing Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Tiwari argued that excluding scheduled tribes and other minority communities from the code defeats the very purpose of a uniform law.
