A comprehensive anti‑hijack scenario was staged at Tirupati Airport on Thursday as part of CISF's regular security assessments. The mock drill mimicked the emergency landing of a hijacked aircraft, requiring swift actions from a wide spectrum of authorities.

The lineup of agencies involved featured CISF’s ASG Tirupati unit, state police, the Airports Authority of India, BCAS, the Intelligence Bureau, airline operators, fire‑rescue teams, the Border Defence Secretariat, and medical responders.

According to the Aerodrome Committee’s report, the exercise met all its prescribed goals, enhancing real‑time crisis response, improving inter‑agency coordination, and ensuring that critical resources are deployed without delay.
