Tirhut Teacher MLC Poll: BJP Candidate Narendra Singh Triumphs

Muzaffarpur: The BJP has emerged victorious in the Tirhut Teacher Constituency of the Bihar Legislative Council.

The win has been met with congratulations from Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, who wished party candidate Narendra Singh well on his success.

CM Choudhary posted on X, stating: “Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to BJP candidate Narendra Singh on winning the Tirhut Teacher MLC election. This victory signifies the faith of teachers in the NDA. I trust you will keep working consistently for teachers' welfare, their respect, and the advancement of education.”

Through his message, the Chief Minister tied the triumph to teachers' support and their confidence in the NDA. He also expressed the hope that the newly elected MLC would remain committed to teachers' interests.

Bihar BJP State President Sanjay Saraogi offered congratulations and good wishes to Narendra Prasad Singh, the party's candidate from the Tirhut Teacher Constituency. He stated that the win represents teachers' trust and support, as well as the BJP's commitment to the education sector.

He thanked all voters and dedicated workers for the victory.

CPI candidate Sanjay Singh suffered defeat in the election.

Bihar Legislative Council polls for eight seats were conducted on October 23. Turnout was 82.85 percent in teacher constituencies and 53.42 percent in graduate constituencies. The 150 candidates included 90 in graduate constituencies and 60 in teacher constituencies.

Counting is taking place for graduate constituencies in Patna, Darbhanga, Tirhut and Kosi, and for teacher constituencies in Patna, Darbhanga, Tirhut and Saran. Votes were counted on Tuesday at counting centres set up at the respective divisional headquarters.
