Tiger Shroff shooting sparks political outcry as Sanjay Raut pushes for President’s rule in Maharashtra

The attempted assassination of Tiger Shroff on October 18 has ignited a political firestorm in Maharashtra. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut used the incident to accuse Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also heads the Home Department, of negligence and called for the dismissal of the state government.

Raut pointed to a string of unsettling events in Mumbai, from the assault on actor Salman Khan to the murders of Baba Siddique and Shiv Sena activist Pradeep Poonkar. He described the prevailing environment as "jungle raj" and urged the central government to impose President’s rule, claiming the state leadership could no longer guarantee citizens’ safety.

The lawmaker also alleged that the ruling party colludes with criminal syndicates and warned of future attacks on opposition leaders. He demanded a Supreme Court review of a judiciary order that was ignored in releasing a BJP worker and urged the President to press Election Commissioner Gyandev Kumar to step down for failing to perform his constitutional responsibilities.
