Tiger Shroff Firing Case: Accused Claim Attack Was Intimidation
In a new development in the firing case involving actor Tiger Shroff's car, the arrested shooters have given a statement to the Crime Branch suggesting that the attack was meant to frighten rather than kill. Phool Singh and Rehan told investigators that their objective was to create fear in Bollywood through the incident.
The two accused said that the actor was within close range during a football match, with no security personnel nearby. They argued that a murder attempt could have been carried out at that time if that was their intention.
According to the statements, they were only told to scare Tiger Shroff and instill a sense of fear. The Crime Branch is now investigating whether these claims are true and what the real purpose of the attack was. The role of those who planned the firing is also under scrutiny.
Officials have made it clear that the statements have yet to be independently verified.
The firing happened on October 18 in Mumbai's Juhu area. After playing football at the Pushpa Narsi Ground, Tiger Shroff was going to his car when attackers on a bike opened fire. The actor survived unhurt, while his driver, Firdaus, was injured after being hit by a bullet.
The three suspected shooters fled on a motorcycle after the attack and later separated, travelling by train and cab to different locations.
Following a case registered by Mumbai Police, three shooters, Rehan, Phool Singh and Rithik Kumar, were arrested from Kota in Rajasthan. Further arrests were made in Delhi and Sonipat during a probe into the supply of weapons.
Police suspect that Randeep Malik, believed to be close to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, is the mastermind. He is said to have assigned the task to Rehan and Kunal through Anil Pandit.
During interrogation, the accused also claimed that Tiger Shroff's praise of Salman Khan was one of the reasons for the attack.
